About the Twilight Festival 4-Miler
2010 marks the fifth year for the Twilight Festival 4-Miler. The event has grown to become the premier evening family race event in the Virginia area, and is known for it's post-race festival and family activities. It is the third stop in the growing Loudoun Race Series.
The Twilight Festival 4-Miler event benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, as well as the PR Award for Excellence Scholarship Fund. The PR Award for Excellence Scholarships are awarded to deserving area High School runners — based on criteria including sportsmanship, work ethic, and team contributions. Teams participating in the High School Team Registration Challenge (which challenges them to recruit race participants and "affiliate" them with each team's high school) are eligible to submit nominees. Congratulations to the 2009 winner: Josh Hardin of Potomac Falls High School. Josh is now attending William and Mary.
About Potomac River Running
A family-run business, Potomac River Running, Inc, was founded in 2002 by Cathy and Ray Pugsley and Brendan and Margie Shapiro. Running specialty is a great fit for us – it allows us to share our passion for running (competition, coaching, teaching, etc.) with runners, walkers and triathletes of all levels, and it gives us a forum to introduce new people to the sport. It also enables us to support and continue to be involved with high school athletics, area events and races, charity groups, youth development programs, etc.
